Naji HakimNaji Hakim was born in Beirut in 1955. He was a pupil of Jean Langlais and received his musical education at the Conservatoire National supérieur de Musique de Paris in the classes of Roger Boutry, Jean-Claude Henry, Marcel Bitsch, Rolande Falcinelli, Jacques Castérède and Serge Nigg, where he obtained first prizes in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, organ, improvisation, analysis and orchestration. He is professor of musical analysis at the Conservatoire National de Région de Boulogne-Billancourt and visiting professor or organ, improvisation, analysis and composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has composed works for the organ, harpsichord, harp, guitar, string quartet, trumpet and violin, a Fantasia for piano and orchestra, a Concerto for organ and strings, an oratorio, Saul de Tarse, for soli, choir and orchestra, two masses, a symphony Les Noces de l'Agneau and a symphonic poem, Hymne de l'Univers. With his wife, Marie-Bernadette Dufourcet, he wrote "Guide Pratique d'Analyse Musicale" (1991) and "Anthologie Musicale pour l'Analyse de la Forme" (1995). His works are published by UMP (London), Combre, Leduc, Billaudot (Paris), FitzSimmons, Ludwig Music, CPP/Belwin (USA).
